Alberta Advantage Immigration Program
Alberta Advantage immigration program is an economic immigration program that nominates people who want to settle in the province for permanent residence. Nominees must have skills to fill the job shortage or are planning to buy a business in Alberta. Alberta has 4 streams for foreign workers to come and work in the province.

1. Alberta Opportunity Stream
Foreign nationals who have a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment and International graduates who have their studies from an Alberta post-secondary institute are eligible for the provincial nomination under AOS.
How it works?
Candidates who completed the eligibility requirements and have one year of work experience under the LMIA can submit their application through the AAIP portal. After that, the candidate needs to submit documents depending on the need and pay the application fee
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Must have a valid work permit with the Alberta Employer.
2. He must be working in an eligible occupation in Alberta that matches their previous work experience.
3. Must have a minimum Canadian Benchmark level of 4 or 5 depending on the NOC level and occupation.
4. Must be at least a high school graduate.
5. Must have a minimum of 12 months of work experience in Alberta in the last 18 months or a minimum of 24 months of work experience in Canada in the last 30 months.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
Alberta Express Entry stream allow Alberta to nominate individuals who have an Express Entry profile. Individuals who have demonstrated ties to Alberta and have the necessary skills to contribute to the province’s economic growth and be invited by the province to submit their Application.
Express Entry Candidates who receive a nomination from the province will be awarded an extra 600 CRS points. This will guarantee an invitation to apply in the next Express Entry Draw.
How it works:
The Alberta Express Entry stream invites those Candidates who have Express Entry Profile. They may receive a Notification of interest from the Alberta Government directly in the federal system. Invited candidates have limited time to accept the invitation and submit the documents needed. If selected the candidate will receive a request to apply for the PR.
Requirements:
- Must have an Express Entry Profile.
- Must show interest in immigrating to Alberta Permanently.
- Must be working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s Economic development.
- A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 300.
- Must have a minimum CLB score of 7.
Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway
Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathways is a fast-track immigration program for tech professionals who have an Express Entry Profile. This is an enhanced program that is aligned with Federal Express Entry. Individuals who meet the eligibility and are invited by the province can submit their application under this. The AAIP verifies that the candidate meets the minimum eligibility criteria and invites the candidate to apply under the provincial nomination.
How it works?
Candidates can initiate the application under this pathway if they are working under the employer who is eligible under this stream. The job offer must meet the minimum requirements under the Alberta Express Entry stream. If they meet the conditions they receive an invitation from the AAIP to apply under the PNP
Requirements:
To be eligible for the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) through Express Entry, you must meet the following criteria:
1. You have an active Express Entry profile in the federal Express Entry pool.
2. You meet the criteria of at least one of the federal immigration programs managed by Express Entry, which include the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Federal Skilled Worker Program.
3. Your primary occupation in your Express Entry profile is in demand, part of a specific Express Entry stream pathway, or identified as connected to a provincial economic, sectoral, or occupational priority.
4. You intend to live and work permanently in Alberta and have expressed this intention.
5. You have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300.
6. Your primary occupation is not listed on the Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations list.
7. The volume of applications or nominations for your primary occupation within the current calendar year is considered reasonable to meet Alberta’s economic immigration priorities.
8. You are neither a refugee claimant nor involved in a federal appeal or removal process, as AAIP cannot intervene in these processes.
9. You do not have an active nomination under any AAIP stream.
– An active nomination is one that has not expired, is eligible for extension, or has been used to apply for permanent residence but has not yet received a decision.
10. You are not currently banned from re-applying to the AAIP due to misrepresentation.
